Ways To Utilize Tile When Remodeling Your Bathroom

There are many decisions to be made when selecting the tiles to use in your bathroom remodeling project. What color tile should you use? Should the tile have a pattern on it? How much of the bathroom should you tile? All these decisions are then influenced by the price of the tile as well.

Often times people will opt for ceramic tiles due to the abundance of these affordably priced tiles that can look similar to higher priced tiles. Take your time in searching and you very may well be rewarded with the look you're after at the price you want. Saving money in this manner has lead some to use more tile than initially planned in their bathroom remodeling project, tiling an additional wall, tiling the inside walls of the bath tub, or putting a tile backing behind the faucet area.

It's also good to consider the size of your bathroom when selecting a tile to use. If your bathroom is small then do your utmost to give your bathroom a more open and airy feel. Select a light-colored tile, perhaps incorporate a larger mirror, and avoid using really large tiles that would draw attention to things like "gee, this area of the bathroom only has 2 of these big tiles". In the event you're using some nice, light colored, medium-sized tiles all over your bathroom you may also want to break up the uniformity of it with a decorative row of mosaic tile, or even a stray bolder colored tile for the more abstractly inclined person.

Another way to mix things up when remodeling is to use a different style or color of tile in the shower area. When doing this just make certain that the varying tile colors compliment each other satisfactorily and don't clash too much so as to throw the fluidity of your nice new design out the window. Keep this same common-sense concept in mind when choosing new bathroom accessories and decorations as well.
